Counselling & Psychotherapy

It all starts with you –

Your presence matters. Your story matters. Feel seen, be heard and felt whilst you tell your story.

Sometimes facing difficulties can feel distressing or frightening. But with a little courage and with my support you really can begin to understand yourself and your difficulties with more clarity, recognise the things that are holding you back and explore different ways to make positive changes happen.

Whether your problems are from the past, going on right now or impact upon your future, exploring the issues in a confidential place with an experienced, qualified counsellor can help you to face challenges, make changes and move forward in the way that is right for you.

What you will get in a counselling and/or therapy session

    • 50 minutes of experienced professional care from a counsellor/therapist

    • A tailored therapeutic plan to fit your needs

    • Professional Experiences, Approach & Accountability to help you keep motivated

    • Helpful Tools to assure the therapeutic work continues after the appointment

My service might not be the right one for you, if any of the following is true:

    • You have thoughts of hurting yourself or others or when there’s continuing violence in the relationship if you are the cause of it.

    • You are under 16 or you are under the care of a legal guardian.

    • You are in an urgent crisis or an emergency.

    • You have been diagnosed with a severe mental illness, or if you have been advised to be in psychological supervision or psychiatric care.

    • You were required to undergo therapy or counselling either by a court order or by any other authority.

    • You do not have a device that can connect to the Internet or you do not have a reliable Internet connection.

What your first session will look like

This session will be your designated time.

Before we meet, it might be very useful to put together a list of some of the things that are concerning you and what you need help with so we can talk about it during this session. I can provide a copy of an assessment form for you to jot down these before the first therapy session.

It will offer us both an opportunity to meet and to assess how we might work together. You are not committing yourself to continue any further with counselling by attending an initial session.

You will be invited into conversations about any past experiences of counselling and any other help you would have received and what your current concerns are.

You are not going to be forced into talking about something you do not want to talk about or are not ready to talk about.

Whenever you’re ready, I will be here to help you book counselling online quickly or you can do so via the booking form, at the times and prices that suit you.

This is important, as I want to provide you with convenient, confidential and affordable access to a professionally qualified & accredited BACP therapist.

We will also agree on the goals of our work together and the number of sessions you would like to have in the first instance.

I usually suggest meeting for a first 50-minute consultation appointment with of course no need to proceed if you decide not to, or the option of returning for further 50-minute sessions.
